HYLINE SAFETY offers comprehensive Emergency Lighting Systems to protect users safety in the event of an electrical power outage.

Emergency Lighting Systems are of key importance to ensure the safety and security of workers, residents and all building occupants.

The type and number of emergency lights installed in a building depends upon the buildings interior space layout, the floor plan area, type of installation & other specific requirements.

Despite advancements in the field of electric power, as evidenced by recent historical events, constant electric power can never be guaranteed. Power failures occur at any time. Preparedness is the key to safety. Emergency Lighting is a critical part of any building installation. Emergency lighting ensures and helps to prevent accidents and injuries when power fails and the lights go out.

Emergency Lighting Systems aid occupants to locate the exits and escape routes. Power Failure and loss of lighting may occur any time. In the case of fires, the risk of injury arising as occupants evacuate to safety can be very high. Emergency lighting systems used in conjunction with other fire safety alarm systems helps to reduce injuries and possible loss of life.

Classification of Emergency Lighting Systems can be divided into four main groups:

1. Non-Maintained Emergency Lighting Systems:
Non-Maintained Lighting Systems are also known as Standby Emergency Lights. The standby emergency lights are not illuminated during normal main power supply, but are automatically powered by an internal stored separate battery in the event of main power failure.

2. Maintained Emergency Lighting Systems:
The Maintained Emergency Lighting Systems: these type of emergency lights are stay powered / illuminated during normal main power supply. In the event of a power failure, the Maintained Emergency Lighting Systems lights remain illuminated by automatically getting switched to an internal stored separate battery when power is cut off.

3. Sustained Emergency Lighting Systems:
Sustained Emergency Lighting Systems function through having at least two or more emergency lights / lamps powered during normal main power operation. In the event of a power failure, one of the lamps remains illuminated by automatically getting switched to an internal stored separate battery.

4. Centralized Emergency Lighting Systems:
Centralized Emergency Lighting System function as a Collective Emergency Lighting system. Centralized Emergency Lighting Systems use a central unit comprised of a collective bank of batteries connected to single power converter that converts battery voltage to 120V. Centralized Emergency Lighting Systems are viewed by Industrial Safety experts as the most reliable and practical systems.

5. Construction of Emergency Lighting Systems:
Sealed maintenance-free rechargeable batteries power the HYLINE SAFETY COMPANY emergency lights.

The unit shown unit consists of:
* Enclosure made of 22 SWG sheet steel made using a durable powder coated process for rugged applications. Some models are made using shatter proof ABS thermal plastic or polycarbonate materials.
* Special grade step down charging transformer.
* Glass epoxy PCB with hi-grade low-tolerance electronic components.
* Solid State switching circuit which keeps inverter "OFF" when main supply is "ON"
and switches the inverter as soon as the power fails.
* High frequency inverter circuit which converts battery voltage into high voltage, suitable for fluorescent lamps offering noise free operation.
* Regulated battery charger offering rapid charging of a discharged battery.
* Low battery auto cut-off circuit provides the battery voltage to be cut-off at a low level as per the battery voltage specifications.
* Normally 1.7V per cell for lead acid battery & 1V per cell for NiCad battery. Solid State Charger with Test Button and LED Indicator
